OEM donates to Highground Learning Center

Pat Hayes, (second from right) of OEM presents a $300 check to Highground Donation Coordinator Kay Anason (third from left) with Gary Veltus (from left), Brad Lueck, Tony Romen, 2011 Chili winner Jack Ikhtiari, Sr. and 2010 Chili winner Scott Katcher, all of OEM.  OEM raised the funds at a Chili cook-off held in February.  The funds will be used to purchase a new Learning Center entry awning.   (Contributed photo)

The Highground was chosen to be the recipient of the $300 proceeds gathered at the OEM Chili Cook-off held in February.  Funds raised at the cook-off were matched by OEM and then brought to The Highground.

Scott Katcher, the 2010 chili cook-off winner, chose this year’s recipient. The group decided the funds should be used toward the new entry awning needed at the Learning Center’s library entrance.

The Highground recognized OEM employees and chili cookers.

“Contributions and Volunteers are the heart of The Highground.  The Highground is a place for all of us.”
