Sept. 3 - First day
of school - we're back in dear old N. H. S.
and to think, we're actually Seniors!
Sept. 5 - Second day of school - observe
a lot of verdant greenery over in the
Freshman section.
Sept. 6 - We've a lot of new books
this year; of course they make us dig right
in and study??
Sept. 7 Freshman still rushing
madly about and getting located.
Sept. 8 - Mr. Peters explained
carefully and in great detail the filing in
of registration cards - a freshman chirps,
"What if he ain't got no card?"
Sept. 15 - Football practice going
full swing.
Sept. 17 - Rah, Rah, Rah! Lonnie,
Henry, and Jimmy elected as cheerleaders.
Sept. 20 - Free Matinee dance in
gym - No charge - Large crowd.
Sept. 21 - First assembly program
- we were entertained for an hour by the
Jubilee Singers.
Sept. 28 - Lost football game to
Chippewa 7-2. Dirty shame, don't you think?
Oct. 1 - Seniors voted on class
pictures. As per usual - some dissatisfied
with the voting results. Pep meeting for
stock and grain judging teams.
Oct. 5 - Played Black River, 15-6.
Oct. 11-12 - Teachers' Convention.
We hope they enjoyed themselves - we did.
Oct. 23 - E. Stanley Books Student
of Dickens.
Oct. 24 - Masquerade party
sponsored by the Boy and Girl Scouts.
Nov. 5 - Initiated Girl Scouts -
Alarm clocks ran here and there.
Nov. 6 - Davis Light Opera Company
- presented snatches from operettas.
Nov. 13 - William Noel first wore
his red shirt and green necktie. Oh, my
eyes!
Nov. 11 - Armistice Day - we won
the game from Medford at Stanley. Franklin
Nehs to tall men standing in front of him,
"Down in front." the six-footers all sat
down without looking around to see the
monster whose voice they had so meekly
obeyed.
Nov. 19 - What is going to happen
- Miss Forsyth forgot to make a library
announcement!!
Nov. 20 - Everybody seems to be
wearing braids and bangs, but more are
wearing braids -- we wonder if bangs are
too loud.
Nov. 23 - Game with Marshfield
31-23 in our favor - we are wondering why
Mr. Becker is wearing dark glasses. You
weren't missing anything, Dick; there were
only three Marshfield girls here.
Nov. 27 - Basketball game with
Stanley here: 6-20.
Nov. 28
- First day of Thanksgiving Vacation. Are we thankful!!
Dec. 3 - A man spoke on light - it
was very interesting. Assembly program in
the morning.
Dec. 4 - Mr. Anderson blew up in physics
class today. He went to pieces when one of
the students exploded one of his theories.
Dec. 5 - Polly Wittke is chewing gum
today. It's the truth; we're not stretching
it a bit.
Dec. 7 - Game with Marshfield there:
23-15. Miss Getz agrees that parents are the
last people on earth who ought to have
children.
Dec. 12 - Mr. Gibson - Lecture course.
Dec. 23 - Last day of school before
Christmas vacation. Miss Getz left for home
before Latin Class - our vacation started
early. Thanks.
Jan. 7 - Well, school has started again.
Just hope for the best and keep your powder
dry.
Jan. 8 - School seems to be getting
complicated again, but let's hope the
Seniors hold out until spring.

Jan. 9 -
On the third day after vacation everyone
blossomed out in his finery. Miss Getz
absent for the third day. Although she
doesn't enjoy being sick, we enjoy the rest
from classes.
Jan. 10 - Everybody got mad today; we
think we are going to beat Humbird.
Jan. 11 - Played the Huskies - anything
might happen: 43-9.
Jan. 14 - Everybody is dull in school
today; Moose practice is too much for them.
Jan. 15 - Typographs! Imagine! Guess
what's coming in a few days - correct again.
Jan. 17 - Miss Welch found $2. Somebody's
already claimed it. She thinks she never has
any luck. - Pep meeting today.
Jan. 18 - Merrillan there: 39-14.
Exemptions read.
Jan. 19 - School Mixer.
Jan. 20 - Fairchild there: 42-23.
Feb. 1 - Mr. Peters made a brilliant
announcement "Please don't pound feet on
desk."
Feb. 4 - Jane Dudley and her violin.
Feb. 5 - Humbird there: 41-7.
Feb. 13 - Mr. Winkley came to school with
little red spots all over his face - what
could they be?
Feb. 14 - Valentine's Day - another
teacher has measles.
Feb. 15 - Lowell played the part of
gentleman when Miss Getz asked him a
question - "I'll let Rose answer it."
March 5 - Orpheon Quartette.
March 7-8-9 - District Tournament - we
lost to Abbotsford - everybody came home
with swollen eyes and red noses.
March 14 - Bud Arndt knows that the name
of the vessel in the story for English was
not the "Mary Ellen' but "Mary Allen." He
even spelled it. He would know.
March 15 - Augusta here: 45-30 - The
first day of Grain Judging - Troops and
troops of country kids.
March 20 - Augusta and Neillsville, 31-9.
March 21 - Band Concert.
April 1 - Mary Ann Grzanna did a snake
dance in Latin Class today.
April 9 - What's the matter with Bob Dahnert's hair? He says it's wrinkles, in
his pillow - we wonder!
April 10 - Miss Getz is all for starting
a drive to get students to return report
cards, the day after they are issued. Who
wouldn't, after reading that list twice?
April 16 - District Speaking Contest at
Osseo.
April 19 - Band Tournament at Eau Claire
- Glee Club goes.
May 7 - Mr. Anderson was having the
Physics class average their six weeks'
grades.
May 9 - Band Play.
May 16 - Senior Class Play.
May 17 - Miss Forsyth (in History class)
- "Yesterday we discussed China telling
about the time the country first came into
existence. etc. Today we will discuss the
development of Japan. - "Hugh, can you tell
me about Japan?"
Hugh - "I don't read about that today."
Buddy Arndt - "I thought this was an
American History class."
May 24 - Prom.
May 26 - Baccalaureate.
