The Class of '37
After having a
grand and glorious three months leave of absence, we
again took up arms on September 7 with sighs of hopeless
despair. We solemnly filed to our assigned places of
martyrdom - grudgingly confessed that we were fortunate
in being admitted on this Noble Institution of Learning.
We were on the
verge of enjoying life once again when our
Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Peters, shattered our illusions
by bringing us to . . . . . attention (?) the next few
weeks drifted on peacefully and without mishap. We were
becoming accustomed to our regular routine, but
occasionally we overstepped our privileges, which ensued
in the loss of a conduct point losers; of course no
names are to be mentioned. It so happened, as in most
cases, that without the proper leadership we were
drifting with the tide making no progress whatsoever
against the onrushing current. It was decided among us
that by casting ballots we would determine upon those
shoulders the responsibility of guiding the
regiment1-9-3-7 would rest. We assembled in our
advisor's, Miss Forsyth's, headquarters for the sole
purpose of executing this plan. After much controversy,
we elected for our captain, Loyd Vandeberg. Our 1st and
2nd lieutenants, respectively are Lowell
