NHS class of ’36 holds 70th reunion
Surnames: Norman, Opelt, Haines, Beyer, Gaden, Schultz, Smith, Neff, Mazola, Imig, Westphal, Karl, Krutsch, Crockett, Bracken, Schield
The Neillsville High School class of 1936 met at Doc’s Diner for lunch on Sunday, September 16. Only 16 of the original 76 graduates are still alive.
This was the class’s 70th anniversary, and the few who yet live and cold attend enjoyed some reminiscing.
Those present from out of town were: Mary Ann (Norman) Opelt, Madison, and Glen (Juanita) Haines, Sparta.
Local attendees were: Walter and Blanch Beyer, Ernest Gaden, Ruby Schultz, Loretta Smith, Lou (Charles) Neff, Belle Mazola-Imig and Marvin (Arsula) Westphal.
Still surviving, but unable to attend were: Clara Karl and Jean Krutsch, Neillsville; Robert Crockett, Calif.; Ted Bracken, Washington State, and Dr. Carroll (Betty) Schield, Florida.
