Ted Meyer from Thorp, a long-time member of the Community
Services Board, has retired after 27 years of service. Ted began
his service to Clark County and the Health Care Center on April 21,
1983, as a member of the Clark County Health Care Center Board of
Trustees. Ted was very involved in Farm Technology (Progress) Days
held at the Health Care Center in July 1983. He was also very
involved in a major remodeling project going on at the Health Care
Center from 1982 to 1984. On November 12, 1985, the Clark County
Board approved the merger of the Health Care Center Board of Trustees
with the Clark County Unified Board and created the Community Services
Board. Ted was one of the original members of the newly formed
Community Services Board, which had oversight of the health Care Center,
Community Services, and ADS. He was also appointed to the Health
Care Center Subcommittee of the Community Services Board at this time.
Ted served as a member of the Health Care Center Subcommittee
until May 12, 1998, when the Subcommittee was reorganized to include
only County Board members. He has continued to remain an active
member of the Community Services Board until now. Ted has been
an outstanding board member over the years, rarely missing a meeting in
over 27 years of service. He has always been willing to express
his opinion on board issues and help shape policies and direction of the
organization. Ted’s contribution to Clark County, the Health
Care Center and Community Services Board has been greatly appreciated
and will be truly missed.
