Steven Burzynski, son of Bernard and Darlene Burzynski, has recently
accepted the TechPoint MIRA Award for New Media Excellence and
Innovation in Indianapolis, Indiana, beating out over 160 entries,
including ExactTarget.com, Indy500.com and OnCars.com. A 1986
graduate of Thorp High School, Burzynski started up his IMAVEX Web
design and marketing company in a garage office – humble beginnings for
one of the only small, local businesses that have been able to keep
growing amid the economic downturn. IMAVEX is expecting to post
roughly $3 million in revenue this year, which is about 40 percent
increase from 2009. Now with 25 employees and more than 1,500
customers, Burzynski’s company, based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, has
developed its own technology for its Internet Web site development
marketing efforts. Because of his innovative and
forward-thinking efforts, Burzynski was recognized by the MIRA Awards,
which specifically looked at the innovative and successful nature of the
growing company. IMAVEX was awarded the winner in the New Media
Excellence and Innovation category, which recognizes the company’s
partnership with Limelight Networks, a global leader in video content
deliver, to develop and launch a white-label video content management
system called STREAMOTOR that allows users to upload a video in any
format encode the video and re-format the video for different functions.
STREAMOTOR can be used to create bumper ads and trailers, publish video
to social media sites, to embed watermarks and display tracking phone
numbers for marketing campaigns. “We beat out some strong
competition,” said Burzynski. “This is a huge win in recognition
for us, our product, and to promote our new partnership/relationship
