At the June meeting of the Clark County Tavern League, the members
voted to donate $500 to the Camo Quilt drive. The Wisconsin State Tavern
league will be matching these funds with an additional $500 for a total
of $1,000 to provide 50 quilts for our troops. “On behalf of the
Thorp Dairy Days and Thorp American Legion and Auxiliary, we appreciate
this generous donation,” said Pat Nowak. Anyone interested in
supporting this worthwhile cause can purchase raffle tickets from
Northwestern Bank, Forward Financial Bank, FCS, Sun Up Saloon, or Pat
Nowak. There are also canisters in area businesses for open
donations. The tickets are sold for $10.00 and only 100 are sold.
First place winner receives a child’s riding tractor, donated by
Swiderski Equipment; second – three Badger Football tickets, donated by
Cliff Hollister; third – room at the AmericInn, donated by AmericInn;
fourth – autographed Packer football, donated by Green Bay Packers; and
fifth – an American flag, donated by Butch Teclaw.
