Thorp High School Class of 1910: William R. Kenney, President; Anna McCutcheon, Vice President; Ignatz L. Przybylski, Secretary and Treasure; Alma M. Fischer, Sayde E. Crowley, Ada L. Colby, Lettie Robelia, Mayme O. Verkuilen and Gladys O. Dygart.
 
Stanley Sunbeams – The residence of M. Mosca, near the tannery, was destroyed by fire on May 18th.
 
Geo. Schmidt came down from Gilbert, MN on Thursday last, and the same day sold his residence property here to W. A. Kingman.  Consideration $950
 
The dance for the benefit of the Thorp Citizens Band last Friday evening was well attended and the boys realized a handsome sum.
 
Gilbert Vanderhyden lost a horse valued at $200, ill with colic, on Monday evening.
 
75 Years Ago (1935)

 
A mid-state baseball league was organized last week at a meeting held at Unity.  The following clubs comprise the new circuit: Colby, Curtiss, Loyal, Owen, Riplinger, Spencer, Thorp, and Unity.
 
Breezy Hill Cheese Factory Neighborhood – Alex Soeller had equipment installed at his factory here this week for making casein.

The Rev. William Schreiffler performed the double ring ceremony uniting Miss Darlene Diane Winiarczyk and Bernard John Burzynski of Thorp, in marriage May 14.
 
Phillip Pabich and Marlene Hazuga have been named as representatives to attend Badger Boys State at Ripon and Badger Girls State in Madison.
 
With Bishop H. C. Northcott, Rev. Cecil Ward and the congregation looking on, two Sunday school youth, Gail Cook and Dennis Hubbard, burned the mortgage of the Thorp Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, while at the same time the dedication services were held.
 
25 Years Ago (1985)
 
The Thorp Fire Department received a new rescue van this week, replacing an older model that was too small to hold the department’s equipment.
 
These active students received Thorp High School’s highest honor at the Awards Night held May 14th.  The Gold Crest Award went to Mike Rademaker, Catherine Miller, Ann Oberle and Janelle Wincek.
 
10 Years Ago (2000)

 
Candidates for Miss Thorp and Princess Thorp 2000: Shannon Einhorn, Renee Klanderman, Katherine Kulesa, Kelly Lipinski, Carmen Seaman, Sadie Sopiarz, Kayla Bunnell, Nicole Danielewicz, Mindy Girard, Brooke Haas, Jessica Haas and Roseanne Tyznik.
 
Mike Maslowski #57 of the Kansas City Chiefs visited Thorp Public Schools on Friday, May 19th to speak to students about the dangers of drugs.
