Robert L. Hotzfeld
Robert L. Hotzfeld, 74, of W4527 Delray Dr., Merrill, died at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007.
Robert was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Merrill to the late William and Gladys Hotzfeld Sr. He married Nancy L. (Wyant) Yanda on June 9, 1989, in Bloomville.
Robert graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1952. He played football, basketball, baseball and was in track. He was a member of the Silver and Golden M Club. Robert served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a combat engineer in the Korean Conflict. He was a commercial construction superintendent throughout Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa. He loved all TV sports, the Packers, NASCAR, golfing, traveling, working with Special Olympics, and LARK. Robert was also a skydiver making numerous jumps in his lifetime. He especially enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren and friends.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; his daughters and their families Shannon (Dan) Schwartzman, Cory and Sean of Rib Lake; and Kelly Hotzfeld of Mesa, Ariz.; and his step-children and families Russ Yanda, Merrill; Brittany Yanda and Taylor, Broc Yanda of Colorado; Lorri (Al) Beyer, Logan and Jacob of Merrill; and Kym (Mike) Buchanan, Jordan, Karissa and Colton of Tucson, Ariz. He is further survived by his brothers David, Merrill; John (Vi), Walworth; and William (Jackie), Sun City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his son Bradley.
Per Robert's wishes, there will be no services held. He will be cremated with a private family burial held at a later date. Robert's ashes will be buried at St. Francis Cemetery in Merrill.
