Lyle R. Bauman
Lyle R. "Butch" Bauman, 73, of W5095 South Shore Dr., Merrill, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Lyle was born July 14, 1933, in the town of Schley, son of the late Roland and Lola Krahn Bauman. He married Deloris Wienke on Nov. 1, 1958. She survives.
Lyle served in the U.S. Army from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1953, and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. For 30 years, Lyle was the owner and operator of the "Wheel In" tavern in Merrill, formerly known as "Mid City Tap." He enjoyed playing cribbage and sheephead. After he retired, Lyle enjoyed visiting and traveling in the southern states during the winter months; camping; and building crafts, like birdhouses.
Survivors besides his wife Deloris of Merrill, include sons Bruce (Jenni) and Robert (Tara), both of Merrill; grandchildren Tommy, Samantha, Brandon and Kendra; and sister Ilamae "Mickey" (Vilas) Barttelt, Wausau. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog "Tiny Mack."
Funeral services were Saturday, April 14, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. John Eldred officiated. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park at a later date.
