Doris M. Annis
Doris M. Annis, 81, of Merrill, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Born in Merrill on Dec. 1, 1925, Doris was the daughter of the late Otto and Norma Stickler Schenzel. She married Charles Annis on Jan. 19, 1946, in Merrill. He preceded her in death.
Doris graduated from Merrill High School in 1944. She had worked at Mattson's Photography, McClellan's and Champ's Restaurant. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, reading, gardening, and especially spending time with her family. Doris's family will remember their parents as a very loving couple to each other and to their family.
Survivors include her daughters Susan Gietzel, Horicon; and Christine Knipe, Milwaukie, Ore.; sons Peter, Irma; and Daniel, Merrill; grandchildren Bradley Zogg, Holly (Robert) Fuller, Becky Gietzel, Mary (Wes) Arnett, Adam Annis and Aaron Gietzel; great-grandsons Andrew Zogg, Jamie, Benjamin and Gordon Fuller, and Benjamin Arnett; and two great-grandchildren to be born this year. Also surviving are sister Carol Garihee, Merrill; brothers Roger (Karen) Schenzel, Wausau; and David (Marilyn) Schenzel, Merrill; sisters-in-law Muriel (Dale) Kopetzky, Merrill; Carol Jean (John) Krueger, Neenah; Jayne Annis, Merrill; and Darlene Annis, Florida; brothers-in-law Robert (Dena) Annis and Philip (Joan) Annis, both of Merrill; and James (Yvonne) Annis, Gainesville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, and sisters Geraldine and Marilyn.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Entombment will be in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, April 25, 4-8 p.m., at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill.
