Florence L. Lechelt

Florence L. Lechelt, 83, of 2615 W. Main St., Merrill, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Hospice House in Merrill.

Florence was born July 27, 1923, in Wausau, daughter of the late Leon and Rosalyn Byshinski Torzewski. She married William Lechelt on June 9, 1945. He survives.

Florence had been a homemaker, and had also worked as a sales clerk in several dress shops in Merrill.

Survivors besides her husband William, Merrill; include son Robert "Mitch" (Ann), Waunakee; granddaughter Molly Lechelt, also of Waunakee; son-in-law Scott Rucinski, Mosinee; and brother James Torzewski, Fond du lac. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Rucinski in December 2002, sister Rosemary and brother Leon.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. Rev. James Horath was the celebrant. Burial followed in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the Lechelt Family has requested memorials to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services or St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill.
