Vila M. Bronson

Vila M. Bronson, 98, of 937 S. 114th St., West Allis, formerly of Merrill, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Franciscan Woods, Brookfield.

Vila was born March 25, 1909, in Merrill, daughter of the late Leo and Mary Nutter. She married Theodore Bronson on Sept. 22, 1929, in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1972.

Vila was a housekeeper at various northern Wisconsin resorts. She was a terrific grandmother and enjoyed every moment she spent with her family.

Survivors include her daughters Audrey Gence, West Allis; and Sandra (Lloyd) Howe, Merrill; son Robert (Millie), Washington; 17 grandchildren; 38 great- grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Mary Hoffmann, son Dale, son-in-law Edward Gence, sisters Agnes and Angie, and brother Lawrence Nutter.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 11, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. Rev. John Eldred officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral; Home, Merrill, served the family.
