Richard and Virginia Flatebo

Richard and Virginia Scharbius Flatebo, formerly of Merrill, died peacefully at their home in Santa Rosa, Calif., with family at their side. Virginia died unexpectedly on Dec. 30, 2006, followed shortly by Richard on Jan. 2, 2007.

The devoted couple was married for 52 years and are survived by their children Richard (Jan) Flatebo, Joy (Steve) Jones and Jeanne (Robert) Close; four grandchildren; Virginia's brothers Erl (Pauline) Scharbius, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and David (Ruth) Scharbius, Merrill; and Richard's brother Myron.
