Doris Grueneberg
Doris Grueneberg, 81, of Wausau, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Doris was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Wausau to the late Henry and Lillie Wegner Jehn. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. She married Lloyd Grueneberg in Wausau on Aug. 13, 1955. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2004.
Doris enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing draperies and spending her days with Dusty the dog and Bandit the cat.
Survivors include her children Bruce (Deb), Merrill; Brian, Wausau, Beth (Leon) Bartelt, Wausau; Bonnie Grueneberg, Abbotsford; and Kris Grueneberg, Wausau; grandchildren Justin Grueneberg, Wausau; Jason (Amanda Radtke) Grueneberg, Joshua Grueneberg and Jessica Grueneberg, all of Merrill; Colton and Lillie Bartelt, both of Wausau; and April (Mike) Sather, Weston; and great-grandchildren Kali and Keagan Sather. Also surviving are brother Harold Jehn, Indiana; and sisters-in-law Hazel Jehn, Merrill, Viola Jehn, Wisconsin Rapids; and Fern (Leo) Zastrow, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and brothers Milton, Victor, Fremont and Gilbert Jehn.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine, on Cty K. Rev. Kevin Hoogland officiated. Burial was in the town of Berlin Cemetery. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
