Timothy E. Volz
Timothy Earl Volz, 40, of Weston, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
Tim was born Sept. 13, 1967, in Merrill. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1986, UW Madison with his BS in 1990 and Lakeland College with his BA in 1998. Tim and Tabby were united in marriage on Oct. 5, 1991. Bruiser, Tim's beloved dog, joined them on May 30, 1993. A few years later they were blessed with Alex and Noah. Tim and Tabby were the love of each other's lives, soul mates.
Tim worked for the Wausau Country Club as a controller for eight years. He loved his job. Tim never questioned his faith and was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Weston where he taught Sunday school. Tim was known for his sparkling blue eyes and infectious smile. You could not see his smile without smiling too. More than anything, Tim loved doing things with his family. He rarely missed anything in his boys' lives from Scouts to football to karate and countless vacations. Tim not only watched the kids play but got in the action from coaching and umping to playing with the kids. He grew up an avid football fan, never missing a game on Sunday, and was looking forward to becoming a Silver M'er in 2009. Tim played right guard for the Merrill football team and also ran track. His passion for football later developed into a love of race car driving. He was Rusty Wallace's biggest fan. Tim also enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include his loving wife Tabetha; beautiful boys Alex and Noah; parents Earl and Joni Volz; mother- and father-in-law Lee and Richard Schultz; sister Stacy (Quince) Maly; brothers-in-law Kevin (Kimberly) Schultz and Craig (Sara) Schultz; and nephews Jack Maly, Foster Schultz and Avery Schultz.
Tim has touched so many lives, always willing to help anyone in need. A husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He will be missed in so many ways; we love you Tim.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 21, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Weston. Revs. Lance Hoelscher and Bradley Hubbard officiated. The Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, Weston, assisted the family. In lieu of flowers, the Timothy Volz Memorial Fund has been set up to benefit the children. Donations may be sent to any River Valley State Bank location. Online condolences at www.brainardfuneral.com.
