Walter D. Zahn
Walter D. Zahn, 79, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 today, Tuesday, July 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation at the church afternoon today. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is serving the family. A complete obituary will be published in next week's Foto News.

Walter D. Zahn
Walter D. Zahn, 79, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, formerly of the Town of Pine River, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Walter was born July 19, 1927, in the Town of Pine River, son of the late Harold and Albertina Uttech Zahn. His first marriage was to Leila Langbecker. His second marriage was to Rosalie Conant on May 22, 1976. She survives.
Walter was a dairy farmer in the Town of Pine River, an over-the-road truck driver and had also been employed at Lincoln Hills School. Walter enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife Rosalie Zahn, Merrill; daughters Debra Stadler and Gloria (John) Schenzel, both of Merrill; Terri (Bill) Knorr, Appleton; and Becky (Roger) Hinner, Merrill; sons Jeff (Gail) and Randy (Rachel), both of Merrill; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; step-daughters Judy (Steven) Dalton, Joanne (Bill) Kolar and Tina (David) Kluckman, all of Merrill; three step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Ruth Plamann, Colorado; and sister-in-law Shirley Zahn, Wausau. He was preceded in death by son Greg; son-in-law Donald Stadler; sister Floriene Krueger; and brother Harold Jr.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Town of Pine River. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
