Gloria D. Noel

Gloria D. "Chummy" Noel, 78, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, formerly of Rhinelander, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

Gloria was born July 1, 1929, in Merrill, daughter of the late Alvin C. and Lillian Block Baumgart. She married Robert Noel in October 1947. He survives.

Gloria was a homemaker and a substitute on her husband's mail route. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Rhinelander. She enjoyed collecting antiques and dolls, fishing, snowmobiling and playing softball when she was younger. She and her husband resided in Rhinelander for almost 50 years.

Survivors include her husband Robert, Merrill; daughters Kristine (John) Lawrence, Ocean City, Md.; Julie (Robert) Lemke and Lori (Dennis) Amans, both of Rhinelander; grandchildren Dana Wedding, Brenda Michalski, Katie (Serie) Mak and Kelly Chariton; and great-grandchildren Guy Wedding, Tiffany Wedding and Tyler Michalski. Also surviving are sister Mary (Merrill) Rutell, Wausau; and brothers Beryl Baumgart, Larry (Beverly) Baumgart, Dick (Gay) Baumgart and Roger (Donna) Baumgart, all of Merrill; Vern (Julie) Baumgart, Henderson, Nev.; and Virgil (Marilyn) Baumgart, Marshfield.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Stephen Russell, Hospice chaplin, officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
