Hilda Edbauer
Hilda Edbauer, 97, of Merrill, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Hilda was born on Jan. 25, 1910, in the Town of Pine River, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Lemke Peterson. On Oct. 17, 1935, she married Ervin Edbauer in Merrill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1996.
Hilda was a homemaker. She loved to cook and bake, and made the "best ever" apple pies. Hilda loved to garden and loved flowers. She always had flowers in her home. She was a loving person and had a very good sense of humor right up to the very end of her life. She was the best mom you could ever want. "We are so thankful that we had her for all these years. She was my best friend and always will be forever."
Surviving are her daughter Joan (Hobie) Hinz, Merrill; son John, Cedarburg; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; and sister Eldora Owen, Germantown. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 8, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Robert Smallman officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Moore for all the wonderful care and concern he had for Hilda. He truly is a dedicated doctor. Thank you! Also, a thank you to Rachel from Hospice. You are such a loving and caring person. Also, a big thank you to Sherry, Tammy and Dan for all your love and concern for Grandma. At times like this it's the love that gets us through the tough times. For those who couldn't be there, I thank you too for the love you had for Grandma all of her years. She loved us all.
