Charlotte V. Olson

Charlotte V. Olson, 86, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, formerly of the Town of Pine River, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

Charlotte was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Sparta, daughter of the late Martin and Adeline Wells Spears. She married Verner A. Olson on Dec. 5, 1936, in Irma. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Charlotte was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Company for 40 years. For 10 years, she was employed at Merrill Child Care. Charlotte was a volunteer at the Merrill Historical Society and was also a volunteer "grandmother" at Lincoln Hills School, Irma. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill, and a member of the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her daughter Dawn (Donald) Nelson, West Bend; sons Marlan (Barbara), Silver Spring, Md.; Wayne (Audrey), Custer; and LaVerne "Butch" (Joyce), Tigerton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandson Loren Olson; and siblings Sadie, Ruby, Pearl, Earl, Hazel and Doc.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 13, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Jeffrey Martinson officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family. The Olson Family has requested that memorials be directed to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Merrill.
