Sarah J. Schield and Matthew J. Thomas, both of Chanhassen, Minn., announce their engagement and impending nuptials.

The prospective bride is the daughter of Mike and Jean Ravn, Merrill; and Bruce and Judy Schield, Merrill. The future groom is the son of Jeff and Cindy Thomas, Chaska, Minn.

Sarah is a graduate of St. Cloud State University, Minnesota, with a degree in local and urban affairs. She is city planner for the city of Eagan, Minn. Matthew is a graduate of Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with a degree in corporate finance and banking. He works in management with Best Buy Co., Inc.

They have set an Aug. 4, 2007, wedding date.
