Vera E. Jensen

Vera E. Jensen, 91, of Merrill, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born in the town of Pine River on Sept. 29, 1914, Vera was the daughter of the late Albert and Augusta Zastrow Bellin. She married Clarence Jensen on Jan. 7, 1934, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1985.

Vera was a homemaker who kept busy raising six children. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Joan Hanson, Tomah; sons Dale, Wausau; Layne (Judy) and Jon (Yupin), both of Merrill; Brian (Linda), Port Washington; and Barry (Jane), Wausau; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, daughter Mary, daughter-in-law Evie Jensen, grandson Michael Hanson, great-grandson Joshua Hanson, five sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
