Martha E. Winkelman

Martha E. Winkelman, 87, died Friday, June 9, at the home of her daughter Diann in Tacoma, Wash.

Martha was born Dec. 12, 1918, to Minnie Schulte. She grew up in the Merrill area. She married August Winkelman in 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They moved to Tacoma, Wash. in 1966. August died in 1975, and Martha remained in Tacoma where her 5 children resided. Martha enjoyed gardening, ceramics, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and visiting her hometown of Merrill.

Martha is survived by her sons Donald (Kathy), Harlan, and Dennis, and daughters Darlene (Dave) Vincent and Diann (Jim) Walters, 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Tacoma, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
