Joseph G. Jankowsky
Joseph G. Jankowsky, 77, of Merrill, went to his eternal home on Thursday, June 15, 2006, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice at Harbor House in Merrill.
Born in Merrill on May 16, 1929, Joseph was a the son of the late George and Mary Walker Jankowsky. On June 5, 1948, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Lambrecht, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. She died on Oct. 9, 2003.
Joseph was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. For 25 years he worked at ROW Windows in Merrill. He then worked at several different jobs, retiring from Merrill Iron and Steel in 1991. He was a member of Bear Track Inn hunting shack for over 50 years. He also enjoyed trout fishing, golfing, softball, and going to the casino with his wife Dorothy.
Dad, you were one of a kind. You did not fail us, nor were you a burden. We loved you dearly and you will be sorely missed by your family, relatives, friends, and the staff at Harbor House. Life for you got hard after Mom died and we understood. Thanks for everything! Your loving family.
Survivors include his daughters Kathleen (Kevin) Curtis, Mesquite, Texas; and Gale Wolff, Merrill; sons Dale (Beth) and Jerry, both of Merrill; grandchildren Shawn and Heather Hulke and Nick Jankowsky, all of Merrill; Jason (Deana) Jankowsky, Gleason; and Jeremy (Kelly) Jankowsky, Wausau; and step-grandson Jordan Curtis, Irving, Texas. Also surviving are sisters Connie (Edward) DuFrame and MaryAnn DuFrame, both of Merrill; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, grandson Jonathon Jankowsky and sister Georgene Krembs.
Funeral services were Monday, June 19, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. David Klemm and Rev. Brian Stolarczyk officiated. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery, town of Scott.
