Alice W. Edmonds

Alice W. Edmonds, 86, of 2100 E. Sixth St., Merrill, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Alice was born Jan. 29, 1920, in the town of Pine River, daughter of the late August and Anna Gruetzmacher Laabs. She married Kenneth R. Edmonds on June 8, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2003.

Alice was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill and also the Ladies Aid of the church. She enjoyed reading, baking and babysitting her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Carol Zastrow, Wausau; son Ken, Merrill; grandchildren Elizabeth and Justin; and great-grandchild Dominique. She was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Reinke and brother Norman Laabs.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Kelly Leary will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
