Mathilda Williams

Mathilda C. Williams, 85, of Merrill, died Friday, July 28, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

She was born Nov. 7, 1920, in the town of Fish Lake, Minn., to the late Albert and Mabel Hedquist Nyquist. She married Richard Williams on Aug. 24, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn. He survives.

Tillie attended Park City Baptist Church in Merrill. She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, taking care of her house plants and traveling.

Survivors include her husband Richard, Merrill; sons Wayne (Janelle), North Branch, Minn., James and Kenneth, both of Merrill; granddaughters Kelly and Tricia; and great grandson Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Nyquist.

Memorial services were held Monday, July 31, at Pine Crest Nursing Home. The Rev. Freddy McMillan officiated. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.
