Barbara A. Kirst

Barbara Ann Kirst, 57, of Merrill, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Hospice House, Wausau, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born in Chicago, Ill., on Oct. 7, 1948, Barbara was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Perrodin Benson. She married Albert Kirst in 1971 in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2004.

Barb graduated in 1966 from high school in Chicago, Ill. She had been employed at Dave-s County Market in Merrill for the past 10 years. Barb enjoyed the outdoors, reading, animals, and spending time with her one and only grandson.

Survivors include her son Joseph (Amy) and daughter Jennifer Kirst, both of Merrill; grandson Damien; and brother Bruce (Patti) Benson, Jacksonville, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Albert.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 13, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Robert Smallman officiated.
