Jean R. "Jeanne" Hopp, 60, of Gleason, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Madison on Feb. 3, 1946, Jeanne was the daughter of Joyce Dahlk Brown and the late Lyle Brown. She married Roger Hopp on Feb. 14, 1970, in Deerfield. He survives.
Jeanne graduated from Deerfield High School in1964. She had worked at Semco for over 25 years. Jeanne was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Gleason. She had served as president, vice-president and steward of Local 2344. Jeanne was a "first responder" for Semco. She enjoyed camping, baking, watching her 'soaps' on television, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Roger, Gleason; sons Dean (Joani), Vernal, Utah; and Jeff (Cindy), Gleason; grandchildren Cody, Chad, Lauren, Tayla and Jade; and her mother Joyce Maurer, Deerfield. Also surviving are sister Jan Kapral, Markesan; half-sisters Kelly and Julie; brothers Robert (Donna) Brown, Madison; and Steve (Lill) Maurer, Merrill; half-brothers Rick and Todd; and sisters-in-law Patricia Brown, Peggy Brown-Bakken and Vicki Brown, all of Deerfield. She was preceded in death by her father Lyle Brown; step-father Paul Maurer; step-mother Nancy Brown; brothers Larry, Roger and Richard Brown; brother-in-law Robert Kapral; nephew Roger Brown Jr., and niece Carrie Brown.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Emmanuel Luther Memorial Cemetery, town of Schley. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 4-8 p.m., at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill; and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to the hour of services at the church.
