Hilda L. Kleinschmidt

Hilda Louise Kleinschmidt, 87, Merrill, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.

She was born October 25, 1918, in the town of Corning to the late Robert and Ella Schmidt Wendt. She married Robert Kleinschmidt on October 25, 1941, in the town of Corning. He preceded her in death on September 12. 1998.

Hilda had farmed with her husband in the town of Scott. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. She enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, crocheting, knitting, watching baseball - especially the Brewers - and spending time with her family.

Hilda is survived by son DuWayne (Diane), Wausau; grandchildren Jennifer (Joel) Chandler and Robert (Jayne) Kleinschmidt, both of Wausau; great grandson Kolby Kleinschmidt, Wausau; sister Leila Wegner, Merrill; and brothers Harold Wendt, Robert (Luella) Wendt and Kurth (Carol) Wendt, all of Merrill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Sally Kleinschmidt, sister Mildred Woller, and brothers Alvin, Edward and Arnold Wendt.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. David Klemm officiated. Burial is in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, town of Scott. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family.
