Cecelia Kafka
Cecelia "Marge" Kafka, 82, Merrill, went home to join her beloved husband Arthur with their Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006. She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Rozellville to the late Mike and Annie Wolf Dennee. She married Arthur Kafka on Aug. 30, 1947 in Stratford. He died on July 21, 2006.
Marge farmed with her husband in Athens for 30 years until she retired. She volunteered as a Gray Lady for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed embroidery, word search puzzles and fishing. Marge was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #4 in Athens. She volunteered for the Merrill Food Pantry and also the SHARE program.
Survivors include son Jim Kafka, Racine; daughter Ann (Leon) Zettler, Edgar; grandchildren Joshua and Elizabeth Zettler, Edgar, and Heather Zettler, Wausau; and great-granddaughter Samantha. She is further survived by brothers Alfred Dennee, Merrill, and Lawrence Dennee, Wausau; and sisters Adeline Masserelli, Colorado, and Jenny Maszk, Schofield. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Gertrude Barned, Mae Fisher, Ida Altman, Mary Belle Radovich and Helen Desgraz; and brothers Mike and Joe Dennee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m., at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. The Rev. Joseph Kleinheinz will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Pine Crest Nursing Home. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill.
