Edlor A. Kleinschmidt

Edlor A. Kleinschmidt, 86, of Athens, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Born in the town of Hamburg on Sept. 23, 1920, Edlor was the son of the late Julius and Paulina Krueger Kleinschmidt. He married Verna Bartelt on Nov. 15, 1941, in the town of Berlin. She preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2002.

Edlor had farmed and hauled milk in the town of Hamburg. He also worked for the town of Hamburg and Marth Shavings in Marathon. Edlor was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Hamburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter Judy (Clarence) Plisch, Athens; and Shirley (Roger) Voelz, Merrill; sons Alan (Mary), Athens; and Perry (Jodi), Merrill; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Verna; sisters Leona Koeller, Ruth Neuenfeldt, and Edna Giese; and brothers Harvey, Ervin, Carl and Roy.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 23, at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. Rev. Joel Danner officiated. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Hamburg. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
