Myrtle I. Faber

Myrtle I. Faber, 84, 1500 O'Day St., Merrill, formerly of the town of Goodrich, Taylor County, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

Myrtle was born July 11, 1922, in Medford, daughter of the late William A. and Anna P. Damm Fischer. She married Norbert E. Faber on Dec. 11, 1943, in the town of Goodrich. He survives.

For 37 years, Myrtle and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Goodrich. She was also a homemaker. After they retired, the couple lived in the Woodruff area for several years, and most recently lived at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. Myrtle enjoyed playing the organ and accordion, crocheting, embroidery, and spending time with her family.

Survivors besides her husband Norbert, Merrill; are daughters Sheryl Faber, Arizona; Judith (husband Don Grant) Faber and Janice Faber, both of Alaska; and Yvonne (Mark) Hedges, Merrill; sons Gary (Eileen), Anchorage, Alaska; Russell (Karen), Merrill; Randall (Barb Willie), Colorado; and Nathan (Tracy Geiger), Marshfield; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Joyce Reinhart, Owen; and brother Clifford (Linda) Fischer, Portage. She was preceded in death by sons Rodney and Kevin; granddaughter Hailey Faber; and brothers Herbert and Melvin Fischer.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Holy Cross Chapel-Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. Rev. Carl Busse officiated. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery, town of Goodrich, Taylor County. The Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, served the Faber family.
