Christopher John Aho, 39, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at his home.

Chris was born in Waukegan, Ill., in 1966. He was the son of Les and Bess Aho of Crandon.

Chris graduated from Waukegan East High School in 1985 where he was involved in the Drama Club, editor of the school newspaper and on the cross-country team. Chris excelled in amateur photography, taking third place in the nation in the National Library Photo Contest. Christ was so pleased to have the opportunity to return to Waukegan in the fall of 2005 to attend his 20th class reunion, when he was ale to see his friends. Chris followed his parents to Crandon where much to his surprise, he enjoyed small town living. He relocated to Merrill when his many health needs necessitated a closer proximity to his medical team in Wausau. Chris was always passionate about books and reading, and since his move to Merrill, a weekend movie became a must. Christ also loved spending time on his computer. Even with his many medical problems, he was always upbeat and positive. His constant humorous e-mails will be missed by his family.

Chris is survived by his parents, Les and Bess Aho, Crandon; brother Scott (Julie), Grayslake, Ill.; sister Megan (Lloyd) Statezny, Argonne; his beloved nieces and nephews Stephanie, Alexandra, Jack, Matthew, and Elizabeth; and his uncle John (Marilyn) Konecny, Gores- Landing, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

A celebration of Chris' life will be observed by family and friends at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Crandon at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Chris followed the progress of the building of the Crandon Public Library very closely, and he always tried to stop when he was home visiting.

The family requests memorials in Chris' names to be made to the Crandon Public Library. Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon was instrumental in helping the family through this process.
