Elsie H. Schult, 87, of Merrill, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Born in the town of Scott on Oct. 6, 1918, Elsie was the daughter of the late Martin and Marie Juedes Hinz. She married Walter Schult on Dec. 10, 1938, in the town of Scott. He died on Aug. 19, 1997.

Elsie and her late husband Walter had owned and operated Schult-s Country Inn in the town of Scott. They had also farmed in the town of Scott. Elsie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in the town of Maine. She enjoyed baking, cooking, watching game shows on television, being a housewife, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters Darlene (Donald) Keeser and Diane (Lee) Pfaff, both of Merrill; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter and sisters Mildred Bartelt, Lorna Woller and Hertha Schult.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Scott. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again tomorrow morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the church.
