Lois Carter Barry

Lois Carter Barry, age 95, of Merrill, Wis., formerly of Berlin, died peacefully on Sunday morning, February 22, 2004, at the Pine Crest Nursing Home of Merrill. Wis.

She was born on March 8, 1908 in the Town of Poy Sippi, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Jennie (Mc'Gregor) Harrison.

She married Bob Carter on June 1, 1933 and he died in 1976, she then married Dick Barry in 1980 and he died in 1990.

She attended Green Lake County Normal School for one year and then taught at the country school for six years. After her marriage to Bob she worked with her husband as a Photographic Assistant and Portrait Painter at the Carter Studio of Berlin, retiring in 1963. She then worked for the Shopping News of Berlin where she sold advertising and then for a time as a clerk at the Rick's Shoe Store of Berlin.

She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the United Methodist Church of Berlin, and the Methodist Women of the Church, and also the ladies church group going out every Sunday.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Carol (Howard) Fredrick of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Kathy (Charles) Pierotti of Merrill, Wis., also two step-daughters, Nancy Eaton of California and Penny Stanles of Waupaca, Wis., one brother, Russell Harrison of Poy Sippi, Wis., and one sister, Phyllis Schulz of Wyocena, Wis., also five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two sister in laws, Evelyn Harrison of Berlin and Lena Mae Harrison of Janesville, Wis., special friend Kay Onstead, also other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the United Methodist Church of Berlin with the Pastor Robert (Bob) Blackburn officiating and cremation will follow.

Relatives and friends may call at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin on Sunday February 29, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
