Augusta E. "Gussie" Leu
Augusta E. "Gussie" Leu, 75, a resident of 32 E. Rees Street, Fond du Lac, passed away July 28, 2004, at St. Agnes Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1929, in Merrill, Wis., a daughter of the late Paul and Emma Mielke Mussell.
On January 19, 1952, she married Robert A. Leu at Dubuque, Iowa.
Augusta was employed as a secretary for most of her adult life. Her employment included working with the Boy Scouts of America for many years, in the real estate business, and she retired from Bank One in 1996. She was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Augusta had a love of gardening, ceramics, reading, and taking care of her extended family and -then some.-
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, Allen (Kathi) Leu of Rosendale and Michael Leu; one daughter, Mary (John G.) Twohig, all of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Randy Weber, Travis (Gwyn) Leu, Wanda Reidt and Timothy Leichtfuss; and by five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, Robert (LaVern) Mussell and Paul (Phyllis) Mussell, all of Merrill; two sisters-in-law, Marion Musssell of Merrill and Loris (Everett) Armour of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Alfred Mussell.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday Aug. 2, 2004, at the Zacherl Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Hedman will officiate. Burial will be at the Estabrooks Cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the funeral home.
A memorial in her name will be established. Zacherl Funeral Home is serving the family.
