Litkey, Charles William WISCONSIN
RAPIDS - Charles William Litkey, age 90, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at his residence, The Renaissance, 1500 Pepper Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.
Charles was born on April 14, 1914, in Merrill, Wis., to Albert and Clara Litkey. He graduated from Merrill High School and then joined the Merrill Police Department. Charles then graduated from the police academy at Camp McCoy. Charles then was promoted to major for the Wisconsin Patrol in October 1965, working there until retiring in May 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Florence "Betty" of Wisconsin Rapids; his daughter, Judith of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Jenny and Andrew, and John and Ann; his great-grandchildren, James and Katie, and Ryan and Garren; and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara; and his sisters, Viola, Marcella and Molly.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004, at THE RENAISSANCE, Wisconsin Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ritchay Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, (715) 423-1414, is handling all arrangements.
