David Majerus, 79

Former Anchorage resident David C. Majerus, 79, of Tomahawk, Wis., died Dec. 20, 2004, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.

A funeral will be at noon Tuesday, with visitation from 10 a.m.-noon at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Burial will be in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.

Mr. Majerus was born March 26, 1925, in Tomahawk to Gregor and Mabel Majerus. He was raised there, and at 18 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a prisoner of war during World War II.

He married Virginia Luse in 1945.

Mr. Majerus and his family spent 17 years in Alaska, where he worked as a carpenter. He moved back to Tomahawk in 1979, working as a carpenter and a driver for the Lange Bus Service until his retirement.

He was a member of the VFW and Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Majerus of Tomahawk; children and their spouses, June and Richard Imm of Missouri, Kenneth and Madonna Majerus of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Michael and Toni Majerus of Lynnwood, Wash.; sisters and brother-in-law, Eve and Harold Gaedtke and Dawn Cressy all of Tomahawk; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
