John Ingersoll

John Robert Ingersoll, 58, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

John was born in Merrill, Wis., on December 23, 1946, to Dallas and Margaret (Haas) Ingersoll. He attended UW-Superior. John married Carol Jacobs on August 2, 1969, in Rice Lake. An Air Force Captain, John was later a flight instructor in Eau Claire. He was also an avid amateur radio operator (W9SWL). John was a longtime Boy Scout leader for Troop 40 in Eau Claire and Troop 5 in Tomah.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Ingersoll of Eau Claire; and his sons, Robert and Gregory Ingersoll of St. Paul, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 8, 2005, at Smith Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner on Tuesday, August 9, at 1 p.m.
