Leo Bartelt
Leo A. Bartelt, 94, Friendship, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship.
Leo worked on the Al-Can Highway when it was under construction. He operated dairy farms in both the town of Corning and Watertown. He had owned and operated a sawmill in the town of Scott and also worked with the American Breeders Service. Leo was the original owner and operator of the former Eastside Car Wash in Merrill.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd (Marjorie) Bartelt, Dellwood, and Donald (Suzanne) Bartelt, Watertown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five sisters, Laura Lueck, Caroline (Robert) Schultz and Alice (Clifford) Christianson, all of Wausau, Doris Schultz, Pewaukee, and Rose Kunamann, Milwaukee.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery, town of Scott. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
