NEWARK - Betty Lou Parag Pennell of Frederica died after a brief illness, Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in Christiana Care Hospital, Newark. She was 80.

Mrs. Pennell was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Merrill, Wis., daughter of the late Jake and Helen Ament.

Mrs. Pennell fulfilled her life long dream of visiting Hawaii for her 80th birthday and enjoyed one last visit with her family in Wisconsin this past fall. She was a caring mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother and expressed her care for all her family throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Parag, in 1953; her second husband, Daniel T. Pennell, in 1983; and her son, Daniel "Tom" Pennell, in 2003.

Mrs. Pennell is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Frank and Patricia Pennell of Dover and Andrea Pennell of Florida; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jake and Edie Ament and Ronald Ament, all of Wisconsin, Bob and Florence Ament of Arizona, and Don and Bev Ament of California; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Roxie and Dave Johnson and Jackie Pierce, all of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Julia of Dover, Nathan and his wife Julie of Texas, Daniel T. of Florida, Christopher and his wife Jeaneane of Florida, and Cherith, Corrie, Katie, Vincent and Chay, all of Dover; and two great-grandchildren, Seth and Katherine, both of Dover.

A celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bearing Precious Seed International Ministry, 14772 Simpson Road, El Paso, TX 79938.
