Edward C. Ashbrenner, 90, of Sterling, Ill., died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing home.
Edward was born October 12, 1914, in Merrill, son of the late George and Anna Hennrich Ashbrenner. He married Gladys Anna Schulz on November 19, 1938. She survives.
Edward retired in 1979 from the Sunstrand Corp. in Rockford, Ill. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, Ill., the Lutheran Laymen-s League, AAL (now known as Thrivent), and the Christ Lutheran School Boosters.
Survivors besides his wife include daughter Ann (Rev. Don) Meyer, Milwaukee; son Roger (Pam) Aschbrenner, Sterling, Ill.; six grandchildren, four-great-grandchildren and brother Clarence (Phoebe), Satsuma, Fla. He was preceded in death by brother Ruben.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 5, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, Ill. Local visitation was held Sunday afternoon at the Taylor & Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Graveside services were 11 a.m. Monday, February 11 a.m. Monday, February 7, at Snow Hill Cemetery, town of Scott. Edward-s son-in-law, Rev. Don Meyer, officiated.
Memorials may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church, Sterling, Ill.; or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, Ill.

STERLING -- Edward Christ Aschbrenner, 90, died Thursday in Sterling Pavilion. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Monday in Snow Hill Cemetery in Merrill, Wis. McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, is assisting the family.
