James P. Kaiser, 54, of Merrill, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Born in Merrill on July 26, 1950, James is the son of Harry and Clara Fender Kaiser. He married Jacqueline Nelson in Eau Claire on August 24, 1969. She survives.

Jim was a 1969 graduate of Antigo High School. He then attended UW Eau Claire, graduating in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in social work. He was the parts department assistant at Ken Vance Motors in Eau Claire. Jim and his wife Jackie were foster parents in the Eau Claire area. Jim moved back to Merrill in 1986 and was parts manager at Stark Motors for five years. He was currently parts manager at O'Malley Olds-Cadillac in Wausau. Jim was active in the barbershoppers in Eau Claire and Merrill. He was also active in the Merrill Eagles Club and held several offices; at present he was vice president. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Charlie.

Survivors include his wife Jackie; son Scott (fiance-Jamie Gray), Merrill; daughters Holly (Allen) Cortright, Merrill; Carrie (Shane) Guralski, Athens; and Tammy and Amanda Kaiser, both of Merrill; his parents-in-law Eugene and Arlene Nelson, Eau Claire; sister Sally (David) Dahl, Merrill; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bloomville. Rev. Edward Powell officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, served the family. An Eagle's service was Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
