Thomas J. Alorie

Thomas J. Alorie, 83, of W4909 Larson Road, Irma, (Town of Rock Falls), died Saturday afternoon, January 22, 1994 at St. Mary's Hospital Rhinelander.

He was born August 10, 1910 in Hermansville, MI to Joseph and Marion DeJardin Alorie. He married Clara Peterson on July 11, 1931 in Eagle River.

Prior to his retirement in 1975, Thomas worked for over 25 years at the Owens Illinois Mill in Tomahawk as a Construction Millwright. Earlier in his career he worked first helping his father in logging; became a fishing guide on Star Lake, and worked for C.R. Meyer Construction Company before working at Owens Illinois. He was a member of the former Bethany Lutheran Church, liked the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, of Irma; two daughters, Virginia (Victor) Cottrell and Joyce Suwyn, both of Irma; a sister, Gertrude Robertson, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Alorie, in infancy; two brothers Ervin and Leonard; and a sister, Sarah Tewes.

Funeral services were held Tuesday evening, January 25, 1994 at the Taylor-Mann-Stine Funeral Home, the Reverend James W. Primley officiated. Burial was today January 26 at Bethany Church Cemetery, Town of Birch. FN'94.
