Lillian Cottrell, 89 died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Golden Age Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Feb. 22, 1908, in the Town of Rock Falls, the daughter of Nels and Alfreida (Peterson) Michelson. She and Howard Cottrell were married Sept. 19, 1928, in Irma. Mrs. Cottrell was a former cook at Irma grade school and clerk at the Irma store. She volunteered at the Tomahawk Senior Center, and loved doing crafts. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Irma.

Surviving are two sons, Victor (Virginia), Tomahawk, and Gene (Darlene), Irma; a daughter, Carol (Peter) Peterson, Brantwood; a half-brother, John Michelson, Kansas; two half-sisters, Hilda Behn, Rockford, Ill. and Anna Mae Feeder, Rochester, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974 and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, the Rev. Rolf Amundsen officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Irma. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home, and again at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
