---Peterson, Otto A. Sr. (1 Jul 1887 - 24 Nov 1983)

Funeral services were held Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church, Town of Birch for Otto A. Peterson Sr., 96, a long time resident of the Town of Birch who was a chairman for 20 years. He was the father of Mrs. LeRoy Arlie Schuetz, Tomahawk. The Rev. Gary Uttech officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Taylor Funeral Home, Merrill, was in charge.

Mr. Peteron was a Christmas tree farmer and dealer for many years. He was born July 1, 1887 in Dalslund County, Sweden to Hans and Ida Peterson and came to the U.S. with his parents in 1888. The family settled in the Wisconsin Rapids area and moved to Lincoln County in 1890. He was married Aug. 14, 1910 in Irma to Elizabeth Nelson, who died March 1, 1970.

Survivors include four sons, Lyle, Rhinelander, Dale Beloit, Otto Jr., Merrill, and Royal, Irma, three daughters Mrs. William (Mildred) Lutzke, Irma, Mrs. Robert (Marlene) Powell, Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. and Mrs. Schuetz, and 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mahlon and two daughters, Vivian Peterson and Betty Peeters.
