---Peterson, Oscar (4 Dec. 1890 - 8 May 1970)

Oscar H. Peterson, 79, route two, Lac du Flambeau, a former Tomahawk resident, died suddenly on Friday at his home.

Mr. Peterson was a retired owner and operator of a resort on White Sand Lake in Villas County. He was born Dec. 4, 1890 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Hans and Sophie Pearson Peterson and was married to Helen Shepard on April 16, 1924 in Merrill. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. George (Marian) Mondiek, Gleason, and Mrs. Harry (Nancy) Weiss, West Bend; a son Ellis, Wausau; a brother, Otto Peterson of Irma; and 12 grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Merrill, with the Rev. Harold Quail officiating. Burial was in the Gleason cemetery.

Taylor funeral home, Merrill, was in charge.
