Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Bethany Lutheran church, Irma, for Olga Kristina Peterson, 99, a former Irma resident who died last Wednesday in Lakeland Manor nursing home, Woodruff. The Rev. Gary Uttech and the Rev. W. P. Schlachtenhaufen officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
Krueger and Sons funeral home, Tomahawk, was in charge.
Mrs. Peterson, the former Olga Person, was born July 10, 1883 in Dalsland, Sweden to Otto and Emily Person. She was married May 14, 1907 to Gustave Peterson, who died 18 years ago. She came to the United States at the age of 21. She and her husband built the family farm in Irma and worked in the logging business. Mrs. Peterson was one of the founders of Bethany Lutheran church.
Survivors include a son, Wilhelm G. Peterson, Irma, three daughters, Margaret Dillman, White Sand Lake, Lac du Flambeau, and Violet Onstand, Marshfield; a brother, August Denetz, Tomahawk; and 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
