Lorenz John Schult, 85, of Merrill, died Saturday, Mary 28, 2005, at his residence.

Born in the town of Scott, on April 18, 1920, Lorenz was the son of the late Anton and Mathilda Woller Schult. He married to Mildred Schmidt on August 21, 1941, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin, by Rev. Wilbert Schulz. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2003.

At the age of 14, Lorenz worked with his dad for several years as a teamster, which was taking care of the horses for a logging camp. Later, he was the farm manager for the former Lincoln County Nursing Home in Merrill. He also worked for 39 years at the Ward Paper Co., retiring at age 63. Lorenz was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, where he had served as an Elder and was a member of the Men's Club. Lorenz enjoyed working on his cars, traveling, and especially spending time with his granddaughters and their spouses and the great-grandsons.

Survivors include his daughter Carol (Peter) Anderson, Eau Claire; granddaughters Beth (Bob) Aloisi, Sheboygan Falls; Kris (Chuck) Eaton, Reiver Falls, Sara (Jay) Wildner, Sun Prairie; and Jen Anderson, Fort Collins, Colo.; and great-grandsons J.P. and Erick Eaton, Peter and Marc Aloisi, and Matthew and Andrew Wildner. Also surviving are sisters Viola Wiesmann, Merrill; and Orella Holz, Wausau; brothers Milton (Ida) and Eldor (Evelyn), both of Merrill; sister-in-law Mildred Schult, Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred and brother Norman.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. David Klemm officiated. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott. Casket bearers were Bob Aloisi, Chuck Eaton, Jay Wildner, Tim Dupke, Bob Christiansen and Jen Anderson. The Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, handled the arrangements.
