Walter A. Schultz, 89, of Aniwa, died Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Eastview Medical and Rehab Center, Antigo.

Born in Hurley on November 15, 1914, Walter was the son of the late Paul and Louise Oge Schultz.

Walter had logged, farmed, did mason work and was a painter. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. He served in the Army during World War II in the Asiatci-Pacific Theater.

Survivors include his son William (Sandra), Merrill; daughters Louella (Bob) Lenzer, Deerbrook; and Linda (Don) Strobel, Antigo; step-daughter Joni (Frank) Holzem, Chippewa Falls; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Dorothy Kienbaum, Duluth, Minn.; and Meida Defferding, West Allis; and brothers Paul (Lucille), Wausau; and Benny (Betty), Aniwa. He was preceded in death by sisters Margaret and Mildred and brothers Frank and Reinhold.

Funeral services were Friday, September 10, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Roger Moldenhauer officiated. Burial was in Springbrook Cemetery, town of Pine River.
